GUERRINO BONI
FOUNDER & LEAD PHYSICAL THERAPIST
MSPT, FAFS, CSCS
Graduated from The University of Rhode Island in 2003 with his Masters in Physical Therapy. He went on to become a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute for Functional Transformation in 2008. This comprised of a nine-month study in advanced human biomechanics and application for injury treatment and prevention.
He has worked in private practice for 11 years as a therapist and clinic director before deciding to embark on his own to establish Form & Function Physical Therapy. He has worked for 5 years alongside local high schools as a volunteer soccer coach and strength and conditioning advisor. He played soccer throughout his life, taking it as far as tournament play in Europe.
His life in sports and love for fitness encouraged him to obtain his certification in Strength and Conditioning in 2002, giving him a strong background in return to sports exercise and conditioning. Guerrino has attended over a dozen continuing education courses focusing on foot, shoulder, and spine treatment and mechanics, and has been a lecturer for the RI chapter of the NSCA at the University of Rhode Island for two years.
KYLA SAND
PHYSICAL THERAPIST MSPT, RYT, AIB-VT
Kyla graduated from Ithaca College with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2004. She has experience working in orthopedic private practice with a wide range of athletes spanning through high school, college, and professional levels. In 2008, Kyla utilized her knowledge of biomechanics to develop comprehensive programs for a number of professional court tennis athletes to aid in their training for the Worlds title at the Newport Tennis Hall of Fame. While working in Colorado, Kyla gained further experience performing functional capacity evaluations and providing expert testimony in workers’ compensation cases. During this time, she worked in a clinic specializing in orthopedics and job site analysis for development and implementation of pre-employment testing.
After returning to Rhode Island in 2014, Kyla worked in home care physical therapy for five years. She was part of a multidisciplinary team made up of RNs, OTs, SLPs, and social workers. She treated a high volume of total joint replacement patients as well as a wide variety of cardiac, pulmonary, and high-fall risk patients. It was during this time that Kyla grew more interested in vestibular rehabilitation and realized its crucial impact on patient safety and quality of life. In 2018 she was certified as a Vestibular Rehabilitation Specialist from the American Institute of Balance and joined the Form and Function team to develop a comprehensive vestibular rehabilitation and balance program.
Kyla is also a registered yoga instructor with a foundation in therapeutic yoga practices. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, snowboarding and gardening with her partner, James, daughter, Eloise, and her beloved dog, Rusty.
BRENDAN LADINO
PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT PTA
Brendan graduated from New England Institute of Technology in 2022 with an associate degree as a physical therapist assistant. Prior to joining the Form & Function team, Brendan obtained an EMT-B certification and has nearly ten years of experience working for St. Luke’s Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital as an ER technician and transporter.
His hospital experience, love for exercise and passion for helping others is what drew Brendan to the physical therapy world and inspired him to become a PTA. While fulfilling his internship requirements, Brendan was exposed to both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy. He knew right away that he wanted to work in an outpatient setting, and has been a great asset to the Form & Function family since completing his degree.
Brendan is a former soccer player and an avid fan of basically all sports. Outside of the clinic, Brendan enjoys playing pick up soccer, longboarding and playing the drums.
